*yes, drove past. For a long time, nearly a year's worth of planning in fact, watching Test cricket abroad looked like it was definitely an outside possibility. But the long form of the game, it seems, is always the first casualty of tight timelines. (10 months ago the India tour of NZ was cut from 3 to 2 Tests to accommodate the BCCI's insatiable ODI appetite.) Besides, I was (and will always be) outnumbered 3-1.
